Let’s kick off the new year with some beauty rendered more beautiful through the lens of science.

Animator and director Fraser Davidson created a video around a clip of theoretical physicist Richard Feynman talking about his thoughts on flowers. In the clip from a 1981 BBC documentary, Feynman argues that his knowledge of the science behind the flower only makes makes it more lovely and mysterious; it does not render nature banal, as some, including Feynman’s artist friend, would argue.
