It’s not very often that an aquarium and a brewery can come together on a project… especially beer.
You can be the judge of the collaboration’s success today – Penguin Hops, the brew made from hops grown at the Shedd Aquarium debuts at Revolution Brewery in Logan Square today, and a lucky few pubs around the city will also get to feature the brew. You can also drink to help a Chicago institution; a portion of every sale of Penguin Hops goes back to programs at the Shedd. But act quickly – supplies are only expected to last two to three weeks.
We interviewed Revolution Head Pub Brewer Wil Turner and asked about the process of brewing the Shedd’s mystery hops.
