Endeavor didn’t leave the atmosphere on its final journey from LAX to the California Science Center, but that didn’t make the trip any less interesting to watch.
Cinematographer Matthew Givot crafted a time-lapse video of Endeavor’s final 12 miles to its new home. It’s quite a slog; workers have to continually push back electric lines so the massive shuttle can fit on L.A.’s streets. Equally amazing are the groups of Californians showing the same excitement about a space shuttle as they do for film openings.
Endeavor has been part of NASA’s fleet since 1992. It’s made a total of 25 trips to outer space.
