Lots of reasons and no concrete solution for gender bias in the sciences

Last week Yale University released a slightly depressing report about gender bias in the sciences. It turns out that even scientists have biases against women in fields like physics and engineering, though it’s an unconscious preference.

We spoke with Northern Illinois’ Director of STEM Outreach Patricia Sievert and Girls 4 Science founder and executive director Jackie Lomax about why equality still hasn’t been achieved and how teachers and parents can help girls excel in  the sciences.
